Installing CSF on Webmin

Securing your Webmin server is of paramount importance. Webmin supports full GUI integration with CSF which is a great Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall, Login/Intrusion Detection and Security application for Linux servers. In fact CSF is one of the best free or paid security modules available in the world of Linux. First, if you haven't installed Webmin, do it. Then run the following commands as root:

rm -fv csf.tgz
tar -xzf csf.tgz
cd csf

Next, test whether you have the required iptables modules:

perl /etc/csf/

In webmin, follow this route:

Webmin > Webmin Configuration > Webmin Modules >
From local file > /etc/csf/csfwebmin.tgz > Install Module

That's it! You now have ConfigServer Security and Firewall installed on your Webmin server. There are a list of recommendation on security that the Webmin/CSF GUI furnishes to you after installation. It is highly recommended that you follaw what steps you can to make your server more secure.
